Dear Friend,
Welcome to Alexander’s Workshop.
Every creation has many beginnings.
It may begin with something we notice, a question we ask, a photograph we take, or simply an idea that makes us wonder, What if?
Then comes another beginning—turning that idea into something real.
A book begins to take shape. A character develops one decision at a time. A photograph may require patience and a little luck. Sometimes the smallest detail takes quite a bit of thought before it finally feels right.
Alexander’s Workshop is where we open the door on some of that process.
Here we will talk about the questions, choices, research and practical work that happen behind the scenes at Ginger Wallman Studio.
Why did we choose that name? Where did an idea come from? How was a photograph taken? Why did we decide to do something one way rather than another?
Sometimes we may even show you something that did not work—because creating is often as much about trying again as it is about getting things right the first time.
This is a place for curiosity, ideas and discovery—and perhaps a little encouragement for anyone who has ever wondered, Could I create something too?

Dear Alexander,
I’ve been exploring Ginger Wallman Studio and I keep seeing Ginger, Miss Peggy, and Alexander. Who are they?

Hello, and welcome to the Workshop.
Thank you for asking such a wonderful question.
The answer is quite simple. Although we each have a different role, we share the same purpose—to welcome you to a peaceful place where memories are treasured, questions are encouraged, and every day holds something worth discovering.
Ginger
Ginger is the storyteller.
She loves travelling and discovering new places. Whether it’s somewhere around the world, or just around the corner, she enjoys observing and simply looking—birds, flowers, people, landscapes, and the gentle details of nature.
She believes that every day has a story worth sharing.
Through stories, photographs, articles, and reflections, she enjoys sharing those experiences, hoping they will encourage others to slow down, notice the little things, and perhaps see the world with fresh eyes.
If you’ve come looking for inspiration, encouragement, or simply somewhere to rest for a little while…
You’ve found the right door.
Miss Peggy
Miss Peggy is the gentle hostess of the cottage.
She enjoys sitting by the window with a warm cup of tea, watching the seasons, welcoming visitors, and reminding us that even the simplest moments can become treasured memories.
Sometimes, that is all we can do.
Life doesn’t always allow us to climb mountains or travel far. Sometimes our world becomes much smaller than we ever expected.
Miss Peggy understands that.
She believes that beauty, friendship, and hope can still be found from a comfortable chair, beside a sunny window, listening to the birds outside, or sharing the memories and moments that make life beautiful.
Her room isn’t about making crafts.
It’s about sharing the memories and moments that make life beautiful.
Sometimes all we need is someone to sit beside us and quietly say,
“Come and look at this beautiful view with me.”
Make yourself comfortable.
The kettle is on, the birds are singing, and there is always room for one more friend.

Now, that would be me.
Think of me as the fellow who spends most of his time in the workshop at the back of the cottage.
I enjoy answering questions, helping organise ideas, solving problems, researching interesting subjects, and occasionally putting the kettle on while we think things through together.
You can ask me almost anything about writing, photography, creativity, technology, or simply how we organise life here at the Studio.
If I don’t know the answer, we’ll go looking for it together.
Questions have a wonderful way of opening doors we never expected.
